About this service

Log Book Servicing

Under Australian Consumer Law you don't have to go back to the dealer to keep your new-car warranty. We follow the manufacturer's log book schedule to the letter - the right grade oils, genuine or OE-quality parts, every checklist item done and the book stamped properly. You get dealership-standard servicing from a family workshop that knows your name, usually for hundreds less.

  • Genuine and OEM-spec parts
  • All makes & models
  • Log book stamped properly
  • Australian Consumer Law-compliant
  • Major and minor service intervals
  • Fluids, filters and inspection

In Redhead, Charlestown, Belmont or anywhere across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie and need log book servicing? We're at 5/10 Seasands Drive, Redhead - give us a call and we'll get you booked in.

What a log book service actually involves

Every manufacturer publishes a schedule of exactly what should be checked, changed and adjusted at each interval, usually every 10,000 to 15,000 km or twelve months. A log book service means doing that list in full: the specified grade of oil, the filters and fluids the schedule calls for, and every inspection item ticked off. It is not a one-size-fits-all oil change. When it's done we stamp the book, or update the digital service record for makes that use one, so your service history stays complete for warranty and resale.

New cars, European cars and everything between

We service everything from a brand-new HiLux under factory warranty to European prestige cars on long-life service schedules. For European makes we use oils that carry the manufacturer's own approval codes and reset the service indicators properly. If you drive a BMW, Audi or Mercedes, give us a call: we follow the factory schedule with approved oils and parts, and we'll quote the exact interval before you book.

Honest quotes before you book

Tell us your make, model and kays and we'll quote the exact interval from the manufacturer's schedule before you book. If we find anything extra on the hoist, you get a phone call with a straight explanation and a price before any additional work happens. That's how Luke and the team have run the workshop for twenty-plus years, and it's why so much of our work is repeat customers and word of mouth.

Log Book Servicing FAQs

Common questions from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie customers about log book servicing.

Will servicing with you void my new-car warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law you're free to have your new car serviced by any qualified mechanic, as long as the service follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses appropriate parts and fluids. We do exactly that, and we stamp your log book so there's a clean record.
How long does a log book service take?
A minor service is usually done same day - drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. Bigger interval services (40k, 80k etc.) can take a bit longer; we'll give you a clear timeframe when you book.
How much does a log book service cost?
It depends on the make, model and which interval is due, because the manufacturer specifies different work at each service. Call us with your rego or make and model and we'll quote it before you book - the price we quote is the price you pay unless we find something and call you first.
Can you do a pink slip at the same time?
Yes, we're an Authorised NSW Inspection Station (AIS S11206), so bundling your eSafety inspection with a service is easy and saves you a second trip.
What's the difference between a log book service and a basic service?
A basic service is generally an oil and filter change with a safety check. A log book service follows your manufacturer's exact schedule for that interval, which can include brake fluid, coolant, spark plugs or transmission work at specific kays, and it keeps your warranty and service history intact.
Do you use genuine parts?
We fit genuine or OE-equivalent parts that meet or exceed the manufacturer's specifications, which is what Australian Consumer Law requires for your warranty to stay intact. Prefer genuine-only on your car? Just say so when you book.
